Smooth Faced Gentlemen

The brothers mutilating Titus's daughter.

An ALL FEMALE Shakespearean troupe by the name of Smooth Faced Gentlemen did a wonderful production of Titus Andronicus in 2013.  The first all female troupe to do so.  The show toured the U.K. before closing in October.  It just fascinates me that no blood, weapons, or wounds were used in the production. Instead, the actresses used red pain and paint brushes symbolizing death and mayhem.  I love this concept in a whole for the originality for taking a different twist with the gender and violent symbolism to bring the lesser favorited Shakespeare work to life. Productions like these are really paving a way for Shakespeare to be brought to a new audience.

Tron Laser Evolution

Disney's Tron stage show created laser and light designs that set world records.

The lasers in the production allowed actors to interact with them

Interactive lasers aren't all that new. Daft punk was using them in the late 90s for their shows, but Tron took them to a whole new level by making actors interact with them almost the entire production. Not only are the lasers working with the actors but they are also working with the electronic music. Talk about an awesome Tech designer.  What grabs my attention more than anything is the entire stage is in sync with actors and music.  I love it! If I ever have the opportunity to go to Disney World, this is what I most want to see. It really brings a new light to laser shows.

RobotBoys

Nick Nitro and Jeppe Long are the Denmark's Got Talent winner RobotBoys

Their most popular video is RobotBoys Feat. Poppin John

Denmark's Got Talent winners the RobotBoys are taking the electronic dance world by storm.  If you have seen any of the Step Up movies, you might have an idea of what Poppin is.  This Dubstep electronic dance form is called Poppin because of the precise movements of the body to the sharp changes in music and creates a bursting pop effect. These guys have really revolutionized the dance art form and are bringing it viral. I as well dance Dubstep and these guys are like nothing I have ever seen. If you get a chance to check them out, Do SO!

Zombies!!!

The Virtual Stages production of  The Zombie Syndrome: On Death Island gives you the best quality zombie scares.

The streets of Vancouver are littered with zombies and audience zombie survivors.

Zombies await around every corner as actors and normal people run for their lives.

The Virtual Stages in Vancouver provided a riveting interactive production of The Zombie Syndrome: On Death Island to bring scares to the Canadian masses.  Popularity of the zombie culture has been at an all time high, and what better way to cash in on it than to put normal people in flesh rotting scare-tastic situations. For $25, normal residents of Canada become part of not just a performance, but also an interactive experience involving actors and audience.  I myself am a huge zombie fan, and would give my money many times to take part in this award winning production.  This brings a "reality" aspect of zombies into this innovative form of theatre.

Extreme Little People Wrestling

Extreme Midget wrestling Federation or known as EMW

I'm not sure if I should be frightened or if I should get on my knees to make it fair.

This low-flying action packed dynamite form of wrestling is really catching on these days.  Professional wrestling is an actual form of theatre because most situations and dialogue of the wrestlers is scripted. Who knew?  The Extreme Midget Wrestling Federation is the mainstream form of this wrestling after having a show on MTV 2 and Spike TV.  These mini warriors are constantly on tour drawing crowds from 500 to 5,000 people with they're choreographed wrestling.  I can't help but laugh and yet be entertained by rooting for a wrestler, and then realizing what is happening before my eyes. Be careful not to sink to their level.
